Unipetrol Deutschland GmbH

    The founding of Unipetrol in 1994 marked the achievement of one of interim conceptual objectives of the privatisation of the Czech petrochemical industry. The aim of Unipetrol was to bring together a selection of Czech petrochemical companies to a grouping which would be able to compete with strong multinational concerns. The majority stakeholder of the company is the Czech state, represented by the National Property Fund. The remaining shares are owned by investment funds and minority shareholders.

    Joint-stock companies Kaučuk, Chemopetrol, Benzina, Paramo, Koramo,Česka rafin閞sk, Unipetrol Trade, Unipetrol Rafin閞ie and Spolana were gradually all integrated into Unipetrol.

    The annual turnover of firms merged in the Unipetrol Holding exceeds CZK 60bn, which makes the group one of the largest companies in the Czech Republic as well as the most prominent exporters. In 2002, revenue from exports reached almost 37%. Within the boundaries of the Czech Republic, the position of the group corresponds to its equity which exceeds CZK 18bn and 8,138 employees at the end of 2002.
