  Chemical name 5-bromo-3-sec-butyl-6-methyluracil Molecular formula C₉H₁₃BrN₂O₂ (261.1) Properties Colorless crystals. mp 158-159°C, vapor pressure 0.033mPa (25°C). Solubility (25°C): 815mg/l in water; 96g/kg in 0.9M NaOH solution; 201g/kg in acetone; 77g/kg in acetonitrile; 155g/kg in ethanol; 33g/kg in toluene. Decompses in strong acid. Toxicity Rat acute oral LD505200mg/kg; rabbit acute dermal LD50>5200mg/kg. Slightly irritating to the skin of infant guinea pig and non-irritating to the skin of adult guinea pig. Rat acute inhalation LC50>4.8mg/l. NOEL (2 years): 250mg/kg(feed) for rat and dog. Mallard duck and quail LC50 (96h) 10000mg/l. Fish LC50 (48h): funfish 71mg/l; rainbow trout 75mg/l; carp 164mg/l. Use Non-selesctive herbicide. Rate of use is generally 5-15kg AI/ha. For control of annual weeds, rate is 2-4kg/ha; for control of annual weeds in orange farm, 1.6-3.2kg/ha; for control of perennial gramineous weeds and annual wees, 3.2-8.0kg/ha; for weed control in pineapple farm, 1.8-5.5kg/ha.
