Synthetic route
Propylene glycol methyl ether propionate is usually synthesized through a two-step esterification reaction
Propylene glycol and methanol undergo esterification under acid catalysis to produce propylene glycol methyl ether (PGME).
PGME is further esterified with propionic acid to produce the target product, propylene glycol methyl ether propionate.
Finally, after distillation purification, high-purity products (≥ 99%) are obtained
