A colorless liquid with pungent taste. Boiling point 49οC; melting point -81οC; density 0.798kg/cm3, soluble in water, alcohol and ether; stimuleting to skin, eyes, mouth, nose. The maximum density in air is not allowed to surpass 8000ppm.
Its chemical features are active. It turns cut propylate reacted with hydrogen and turns into metacetonic acid after oxidization; easily to be polyreacted.
Application
Widely used in the fields of rubber, painting, plastics, medicine, perfume, food-stuff and feed, etc.
Package
200kg/drum; stored in low temperature and sealed condition; delivered in tank.
Storage
Avoid to store in air as it is easily to turn into acid after oxidization; stored with protection of nitrogen in aluminum or stainless steel container, or carbon steel container with resin lining; as combustible, red mark should be attached when delivered.
